Description
High level disinfectant. Product with antimicrobial action used as a cold disinfectant for medical – surgical and thermosensitive instruments. Solutions are presented at acidic pH because they are more stable (maximum stability at pH = 3), but at this pH it is not very effective as a disinfectant, so when formulated it must be prepared neutralized with the activator until pH (6.8 – 7.5).
Microbiological Properties: Bactericidal, mycobactericidal, fungicidal, virucidal in 30 minutes (Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella choleraesuis, Escherichia coli, Pseudomona aeruginosa, Trychophyton mentagrophytes, Candida albicans, Mycobacterium smegamatis) and sporicida in 60 minutes (Bactericida spillorogenestidium) according to studies carried out by international techniques.
Expiration: two years from the date of production
- Glutaraldehyde 2% w / v
- Purified water qs. 100%
Instructions for use: Before using the solution, it must be activated. Record the activation date. Pour the contents of the activator solution into the bottle or can (as appropriate) of Novacid 14. Mix very well. Do not dilute. The solution will take a slight
green coloring, thus indicating that it is ready to be used. The product thus prepared has a stability of 14 days, as long as the minimum inhibitory concentration is controlled, which is 1.0%, which will be determined by using the control test strips for the Novacid 14 solution. To proceed with high-level disinfection of surgical instruments and medical products, they must be carefully cleaned and rinsed before soaking in Novacid 14. Place the material to be processed in a plastic tray with the disinfectant solution, cover and leave for 30 minutes in direct contact with bacteria, yeasts, fungi, viruses and mycobacteria; and 60 minutes for bacteria spores. Do not add any product. Then rinse carefully in sterile or filtered water.
Verification of the effectiveness of the product: The control strips are indicated to control the level of active Glutaraldehyde in the Novacid 14 total cold disinfection solution. To carry out the control, the reactive part of the strip must be completely immersed in the solution of Novacid 14 (activated) for 1 second. Then remove the excess solution by shaking
lightly the strip and wait 15 seconds before reading the result (it is important to respect the time indicated before proceeding with its interpretation). A uniform pink coloration indicates that the solution is compliant; an orange or orange color with pink edges indicates non-conformity of the solution, so it should be discarded.
Compatible materials: Ideal for heat-sensitive instruments. Aluminum, zinc, carbon steel, tungsten carbide, stainless steel, chrome steel, polyvinyl chloride, polycarbonate, polyethylene, polypropylene, neoprene probe, silicone, kroton tubing, and rigid nylon.
Restrictions on its use: Do not immerse any material for more than 24 hours. Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents.
Method of inactivation and disposal of the product: It is disposed of to sewage by dilution method with running water according to established biosecurity standards. Empty containers are rinsed with running tap water and disposed of as non-hazardous waste or in accordance with established biosecurity standards.
Expiration: two years from the date of production
